Sadly, everything is politicized in 2018 thanks in part to the media’s inability to accept the results of the 2016 election. It seems like there isn’t a day goes by where the media and liberal politicians aren’t sabotaging every conversation with hatred for Trump. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez couldn’t even put out a Happy Hanukkah message without attacking the president.
That Trump hate has spilled into sports too. Instead of do the right thing and show up to the White House to share victories with the country, champions in the major sport have decided to skip the traditional visit entirely. Apparently, personal politics is more important than the country now because Trump is mean, or something.
Recently, we learned what the Boston Red Sox plan to do following their World Series victory.
They are coming to see Trump.
Good to hear.
No one cares what your personal politics are. There have been plenty of players over the years who went to the White House even if they didn’t vote for that president. Only recently have players started pretending that partisanship should matter. It’s embarrassing to watch teams like the Golden State Warriors act like selfish children and bail on the White House visit which is supposed to be an honor. The White House is bigger than the moment. It’s about history and it’s about patriotism.
Props to the Red Sox for understanding that.
