Turns Out NFL Player Captured on Film Beating Woman Refused to Stand for Anthem to Protest Brutality

A disgusting video of the Kansas City Chief’s star running back went viral at the end of last week, showing him pushing and kicking a woman.

People were shocked.

Within hours of the video dropping, the Chiefs announced that they had cut Hunt from the team.

While the incident happened in February and had been ‘investigated’ at that time, the video was not present and apparently, the Chiefs took Hunt’s word for what happened.

From NY Post:

Hunt was also placed on the commissioner’s exempt list by the NFL, meaning he cannot practice, play or attend games while the league continues to investigate.

“The NFL’s investigation, which began immediately following the incident in February, will include a review of the new information that was made public today,” the league said in a statement.

The Chiefs, in a statement, acknowledged they were made aware of an incident involving Hunt, which occurred in February, but he lied to them during their talks with him.

“At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue,” the statement read. “As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact. We are releasing Kareem immediately.”

There’s a lot to be concerned about here – why wasn’t there more done, like talking to the woman or the NFL investigating after the reported incident?

Did his star power interfere with how seriously the team and the NFL wanted to take the incident?

But people also raised another question and that was about Hunt’s apparent hypocrisy.

Hunt was one of the players who sat in protest of ‘police brutality’ during the National Anthem.

Hunt has now apologized for his actions against the woman.

But it’s not clear yet what his future in the NFL will be.
