In case you haven’t noticed, things are not going well over at CNN. The ratings are in the toilet and the network has completely abandoned the idea of even pretending to be a legitimate news organization. All day long the the pundits on the channel make up stories about Trump and do whatever they can to discredit him. It’s not news. It’s theater.
Jake Tapper is one of the most recognizable faces at CNN and he just got some news that he won’t be too happy about.
A Morning Consult poll shows CNN’s Jake Tapper is the most mistrusted journalist in America.
The poll surveyed 2,206 adults, has a margin of error of plus or minus two percent, and asked a number of questions about the news media in general and 50 specific American media personalities specifically.
When asked “How much do you trust the following” media personality, 35 percent said of Tapper “not much” or “not at all.” This high level of mistrust for Tapper placed the left-wing CNN anchor in tenth place on a list of the most mistrusted media personalities.
This shouldn’t come as too much of a shock to people who watch CNN or have seen some of the awful reporting they do over there. Tapper seems like a good guy but clearly he’s got a credibility problem with a lot of views out there.
The whole network does.
Last week, CNN dropped a full 41 percent in the daytime TV ratings and fell 36 percent in primetime compared to the same week last year.
AdWeek reports, “CNN ranked No. 6 across basic cable in total prime time viewers, and No. 5 in total day this past week. Despite the top 10 finishes, the network was -36 percent in prime time viewers, and -41 percent in total day viewers vs. the same week last year.”
Not only did CNN see a devastating drop from last year’s ratings, the network was once again bested by its competitors. Fox News came in first place with during the day, while MSNBC came in second.
