Stacey Dash: Fire Brenda Snipes

President Trump just laid out crooked Broward County elections clerk Brenda Snipes in an interview with the Daily Caller, saying she should be “fired,” along with her “cronies.”

The President’s comments come after over a week of irregularities in the vote counting process, which included Broward County elections officials violating laws on government transparency, an Avis rental car employee discovering “provisional ballots” in a car returned by Broward County elections staff, and mixing invalid provisional ballots and valid votes together in the same count.

Snipes has until November 15th to complete the machine recount of votes cast in Broward County.

Snipes has a long history of election “irregularities.”

After the 2016 Democratic primary election, a Florida election supervisor found that Snipes’ office unlawfully destroyed paper ballots and ordered that she be supervised in future elections. This “error” prevented Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s primary challenger, law professor Tim Canova, from evaluating the integrity of paper ballots cast in that contest.

In 2017, Snipes admitted that she had allowed illegal immigrants and felons to vote illegally in Florida’s past elections.

These are just two of many controversies involving Brenda Snipes, yet somehow she kept her job until now? How does that math add up?

This week, MSNBC’s Joy Reid claimed that Republican criticism of Snipes’ performance was the result of racism in the Republican Party.

It’s “racism” to demand that a public official does her job?

Also this week, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell claimed that Snipes is a “Republican,” which Politifact rated “false” (more like “pants on fire”), after Snipes told CNN’s Chris Cuomo that she’s “been a Democrat all [her] life.” Narrative fail!

Maybe it was racism to let Snipes keep her job this long? How does someone this incompetent or corrupt stay in office? She can’t even count ballots correctly!

Now Snipes is saying it’s “time to move on” from her role as elections supervisor, but not until after the recount is completed. It was time to move on a long time ago.

Gov. Rick Scott needs to say “You’re fired.” If Snipes is this incompetent, or just a failed leader, or just horribly corrupt, it’s dangerous to let her stay in office one more minute.

Can we risk putting our elections in the hands of someone who can’t do anything right?
