You’ve no doubt heard by now that the White House took away Jim Acosta’s press credentials after his outburst at the White House that involved him putting his hands on a female White House staffer. Here’s the video if you missed it.
You can clearly see him push her arm away which is weird that he decided to lie and claim he didn’t touch her. Regardless, even if he didn’t touch her, the White House was fed up with him and for good reason. For 2 years now he’s been grandstanding and debating Trump’s White House during his questioning. He doesn’t have the right to a debate. Freedom of the press doesn’t mean he can walk in the White House and start debating with everyone with no regard for time or other members of the press.
CNN sees it differently. CNN thinks that freedom of the press means anyone is allowed in the White House at any time and they can say and do whatever they want with no push back.
They sued the White House.
From Hollywood Reporter:
In the most dramatic action yet in the ongoing feud between the media and the White House, CNN on Tuesday filed suit to reverse the Trump administration’s decision last Wednesday to suspend chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta’s “hard pass,” which grants access to the building. The news was broken on CNN’s airwaves.
“CNN filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration in D.C. District Court,” the network said in a statement. “It demands the return of the White House credentials of CNN’s chief White House correspondent, Jim Acosta. The wrongful revocation of these credentials violates CNN and Acosta’s First Amendment rights of freedom of the press, and their Fifth Amendment rights to due process.”
Think that’s ridiculous?
Check out what Fox News just said about it…
From The Hill:
Fox News on Wednesday announced that it backs rival CNN’s lawsuit against the Trump administration.
Fox News President Jay Wallace said in a statement posted to Twitter by Yahoo’s Colin Campbell that the network intends to file an amicus brief with a U.S. District Court in the lawsuit.
If you watch Fox News during the day or during election night it’s clear to see that many of the pundits and anchors don’t care much for Trump. This idea that Fox News is just a Trump mouthpiece really isn’t accurate. Yes, the prime time lineup is staunchly pro-Trump. However, there are plenty of personalities at Fox that clearly are uncomfortable with President Trump and there’s no doubt that some of the higher ups would have rather had Hillary Clinton win. Regardless, you’d think that Fox News would know better than to support CNN on this.
Apparently, Fox News and CNN don’t think a reporter should ever have his press pass taken away regardless of the way he behaves.
What kind of nonsense is that?
This is a great example of how entitled the media elites have become.
