ABC made a huge mistake firing Roseanne. The American people know it. Roseanne knows it. ABC has even admitted the know it.
Who in their right mind expected ‘The Conners’ to even come close to the ratings ‘Roseanne’ got?
Roseanne was that show. It was her creation. It was about her. She was the star.
The show now is absolutely dreadful to watch and the ratings have backed that up.
Check out the latest numbers…
From The Daily Caller:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the spinoff of ABC’s hit sitcom “Roseanne” plummeted to a season-low Tuesday night.
“The Conners” brought in a season-low 1.5 Nielsen Rating (which means 1.5 percent of the measured demographic tuned in), down 0.3 since last week. This comes out to an audience of about 6.90 million viewers, aged 18–49 years old.
This was an obvious disappointment compared to previous ratings. “The Conners” premiere raked in an impressive 7.5 rating back in early October. For comparison, the premiere of “Roseanne” brought in a monstrous 11.6 rating back in March.
It is almost a guarantee that this show is getting cancelled soon.
From Showbiz 411:
The trades report without editorial comment that ABC has ordered only more episode to be added to the ten it already contracted for this season.
A full half season order is 13, which means ABC didn’t even fill that out. And they most certainly didn’t ask for a number like 22 which would take “The Conners” to the end of the current TV season next spring.
The 1 episode order makes me think it’s just a finale to the ten as a good will gesture. And then “The Conners” would go back to the mists of TV’s own walking dead.
ABC execs have no on to blame but themselves.
