When Antifa members went to Tucker Carlson’s home and threatened his family, some in media called them out. Megyn Kelly blasted it, even Stephen Colbert condemned it. But there was a troubling number of people who actually supported it, claiming it somehow ‘justified’ because Carlson was a ‘racist’ or other such leftist justification. Rule of law and civility, be damned.
Carlson noted how he got many kind messages of support. But he commented on how the threats have a chilling effect on free speech and differing opinions.
Why are we sitting back and allowing speech to be squelched like this,” Carlson said. “No one is for this except for a tiny minority of people and yet they have control. How did we get here?” “It’s not a protest,” he continued. “It’s a threat.”
One hopes it’s a “tiny minority” but a scroll through social media revealed dozens who sought to justify it.
And among those who justified the action was Soledad O’Brien. O’Brien has been a television anchor or correspondent for networks including MSNBC, CNN, Al Jazeera America and HBO. She now has a Hearst Television show, ‘Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien’ which is produced by her own company, Starfish Media Group.
O’Brien tweeted in response to the Carlson’s comments.
“Yes well when you’re a racist, saying what you think might end up ousting you from your job. So yes, people will bash you when you take the white supremacist position that diversity is not a strength. Don’t be a racist.”
Anyone that really thinks that Carlson is a racist is severely unhinged. But, of course, it’s something liberals use to try to invalidate opinions they don’t like.
Who gets to decide who’s ‘racist’ and thus subject to attack? Why Democrats, of course. Rule of law? Apparently that doesn’t matter, it’s the rule of the mob and their subjective aggrieved feelings.
People blasted O’Brien’s take.
