Kanye Designs New Line To Promote #WalkAway Movement — People Are LOVING It

Rapper and producer Kanye West recently dipped his toes in the fashion industry through various lines of new shoes and clothing, but his newest line of T-shirts pairs his interest in helping President Trump with the movement of former Democrats joining the Republican Party.

Dubbed “Blexit” — obviously borrowing the name from Britain’s “Brexit” movement — the new movement is looking to utilize growing frustrations among Democrats and the Black community to walk away from their party allegiance and to begin supporting conservativism.

From Fox News:

Kanye West is throwing a literal hat into the political arena once again, this time designing a line of T-shirts and hats for a campaign dedicated to urging black voters in the U.S. to break away from the Democratic party.

The rapper and fashion mogul designed a series of clothing merchandise supporting “Blexit,” which seeks to not only convince black voters to change parties but shows the stories of those that have already. The designs debuted Saturday at the Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit, a meeting meant to bring together conservatives in the black community.

The shirts were pitched by Turning Point Communications Director Candace Owens, who was recently praised by President Trump for encouraging minority voters to think for themselves. She said those in the Black community should not adhere to groupthink or be told what to think politically because of their culture or the color of their skin.

“Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,” Owens said, per Page Six. “[West] has taken one of the boldest steps in America to open a conversation we have needed to have.”

For more than a decade, West has played an instrumental role in the music industry though he has been recently criticized for expressing support for President Trump.

And, here’s more on the Blexit movement, via Page Six:

The new shirts come in traffic-cone orange, teal and a muted lavender with designs that say “Blexit” or “We Free.”

The clothes were part of a broader launch of Blexit.com, which includes testimonials from black Americans who have left the Democratic Party.

Owens said there will be a Blexit tour to major cities including Chicago and Philadelphia, starting next year.

“The Blexit movement will spend 2019 holding rallies in every major city in America that the Democrats have destroyed,” she said.

Other people online similarly expressed support for the movement:

The #WalkAway movement, in general, has repeatedly shown up on social media and shows how many former Democrats have grown frustrated with their party over a number of reasons and are willing to support President Trump and Republicanism.

The movement held a march in Washington D.C. over the weekend, the Washington Times reports. Here’s more:

The founder of this political movement came forward with his proposal five months ago. In a video published online in May, Brandon Straka advised disenchanted or disappointed Democrats and liberals should simply “walk away” from the Democratic Party, which he said had embraced left-leaning values and forgotten its calling.

He simply called his new activism #WalkAway, making use of the power of the social media hashtag.

Mr. Straka’s quest has now hit the public radar. Over 5,000 people and 31 public speakers joined him Saturday in person or via video for a march and a rally on Pennsylvania Avenue in the nation’s capital. Those speakers included Diamond & Silk, Fox News host Tomi Lahren, and former presidential hopeful Herman Cain.
