Top Democrat Will NOT Be Running In 2020, Conservatives Are SO Relieved

Immediately following the defeat of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, liberals have been seething over the idea of taking back the White House in 2020. Who would run, who would win? Donald Trump, now President Trump, defeated probably the Democrat with the largest following, so who else could stand a chance?

Many eyes turned to another person who defeated Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama. While he cannot run for a third term, liberals have been wanting his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, to run for the presidency.

As the former president revealed during a rally in Las Vegas, Michelle would not be running and has no ambition for any political office.

From the Washinton Examiner:

The former first lady is “not running for president, but she is out there telling you to vote because the antidote to government by the powerful few is government by the organized, energized many,” the 44th president said during a rally in Las Vegas.

As conservatives will not have to watch another Obama run for office, conservatives are undoubtedly relieved. The Obamas will, however, still be on television campaigning around the country for other candidates.

Obama said he and his wife would continue to campaign around the country for other Democrats and to encourage voter turnout. Michelle similarly said, during a recent speaking event at a Nevada high school: “We get the leaders we vote for. We get the policies we vote for. And when we don’t vote, that’s when we wind up with a government of, by, and for other people.”

“I’ve never had the passion for politics,” Michelle Obana previously said, per the Washington Examiner. “I just happened to be married to somebody who has the passion for politics, and he drug me kicking and screaming into the arena.”

Although the former first lady will no longer be considered for the 2020 election, the number of Democrats potentially running for their party’s nomination seems to be growing with each passing day.

As the Washington Examiner also reports, the list of Democrats with ambitions to run, or who are considered by many as capable of running, tops 30 people.
