Stormy Daniels’ Lawyer Drops 3-Word Bombshell On 2020, It’s Not What You’re Thinking

President Trump may have just found his first official challenger for his re-election campaign in 2020 from Michael Avenatti, the lawyer who represents Stormy Daniels in a case against the president.

When Avenatti first came onto the scene, people were suspicious if he was using the publicity as a quick rise to fame. On Wednesday, Avenatti confirmed that everything is politics as usual when he said “I will run” for the presidency.

The 2020 bombshell will undoubtedly bring more attention to his case against the president and will further politicize the case.

Avenatti made the announcement in a tweet on Wednesday morning in a reply to another user who asked him if he would be running for the presidential office.

“IF (big) he seeks re-election, I will run, but only if I think that there is no other candidate in the race that has a REAL chance at beating him. We can’t relive 2016. I love this country, our values and our people too much to sit by while they are destroyed. #FightClub #Basta,“ Avenatti tweeted.

Avenatti immediately fought off criticisms of his potential run when people said he lacked political experience.

“To those that claim that only a traditional politician with ‘experience’ can beat Trump, go back & look at the results from 2016. He beat all 15 of those candidates that he faced (crushed many). If we go down the same path and are not smart, don’t be surprised with the result.”

“I’m not relying on temporary fame,” the lawyer quipped in another tweet. “I’m relying on brains, heart and courage. I am happy to compare those attributes to Mr. Trump any time.”

The attorney weighed-in on the Supreme Court vacancy and shared his would-be platform too: “Solidly pro choice. Would never nominate a justice to the SCOTUS who did not believe in Roe or who would seek to outlaw same sex marriage. Fully support equality for women & people of all races, & gay rights. We don’t separate families at the border. And we don’t kiss-up to Putin.”

Here’s more, from Politico:

Appearing on CNN later Wednesday, Avenatti hinted at a potential presidential platform focused on dismantling Trump’s immigration policies, bolstering the United States’ international reputation and targeting unemployment in America’s heartland.

“I am interested in talking about ripping kids from the sides of their mothers. I am interested in having allies laugh at us around the world. I am interested in where all those jobs are that he promised Americans in key electoral states. I am interested in pro-choice and a whole host of other issues,” Avenatti said.

“So look, I hope somebody that’s competent enough to beat this guy — and that’s the question, who can beat him? I hope that person steps forward,” he added. “If they don’t, I will.”

Avenatti clarified that if he were to run for the presidency, then he would do so on a Democrat ticket and not as a third party.
